1. Who we are
Vowance (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website at vowance.com and sells personalized wedding save-the-date cards to customers in the United States. Contact: hello@vowance.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect the following personal information when you use our service:
- Photo you upload — the couple portrait you provide so we can generate your save-the-date card.
- Card content you enter — your names, wedding date, venue city, and any additional headline text you type into the editor.
- Order information — shipping address, billing contact, and payment details, collected and processed by Stripe when you check out.
- Usage data — pages visited, device type, and interaction data, collected via Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and heatmaps) and Meta (advertising attribution, in the browser and from our server). These run by default so we can see how the site is used; you can turn them off at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page, and we honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically. Clarity masks the text you type, so your names, email and card wording are not visible in recordings.
3. Why we collect it
| Purpose | Basis |
|---|---|
| Generating your card artwork from the photo and text you provide | Performance of your order |
| Processing payment and shipping the printed cards | Performance of your order |
| Emailing order confirmations and shipment tracking | Performance of your order |
| Sending your design preview, and occasional emails about Vowance if you gave us your address to receive a preview | Our legitimate interest in telling interested couples about our cards — every email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time |
| Including your email address (hashed) in advertising audiences on Meta | Our legitimate interest in reaching couples likely to want our cards — opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page or by asking us to delete your address |
| Site analytics (Microsoft Clarity) | Our legitimate interest in understanding and improving how the site is used — you can opt out at any time |
| Advertising attribution (Meta Pixel and Conversions API) | Our legitimate interest in measuring our advertising — you can opt out at any time |
4. Your uploaded photo
We use your photo only to generate your save-the-date card. We do not use it to train machine-learning models, we do not use it in marketing, and we do not share it with anyone except the AI providers listed in section 6, who process it on our behalf under contract. The original photo and the generated artwork are deleted from our servers 30 days after your order ships.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies. You can opt out of analytics and advertising at any time via the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer, and change your choice at any time by clearing your site data.
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function (checkout session, editor state). Always active.
- Analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity) — session recordings and heatmaps we use to improve the site. Active by default; opting out on Your Privacy Choices switches them off.
- Marketing cookies (Meta Pixel) — ad targeting and conversion tracking. This includes a browser identifier (
_fbp) and, if you arrived from an ad, the click identifier from that link — we set these ourselves as first-party cookies so measurement still works when the Meta script is blocked. Active by default; opting out on Your Privacy Choices switches them off, deletes those identifiers along with any email address remembered in your browser, and stops the events our server would otherwise send to Meta.
6. Third-party processors
- Vercel — website hosting and encrypted photo storage. Privacy policy
- fal.ai — AI image generation for the couple portrait. Privacy policy
- Google Gemini — AI image generation for template backdrops. Privacy policy
- Stripe — payment processing. Card details never touch our servers. Privacy policy
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot and abuse protection on the card generator. Privacy addendum
- Microsoft Clarity — session analytics. Loaded unless you opt out (Your Privacy Choices, or the Global Privacy Control signal). Text you type is masked. Privacy statement
- Meta (Pixel and Conversions API) — advertising measurement. Loaded unless you opt out; we also send purchase and funnel events from our own server, which stops as well when you opt out. Where we share your email for ad matching it is hashed (SHA-256) before it leaves our server — Meta never receives it in the clear. Privacy policy
7. Data retention
Order records (name, shipping address, order total) are retained for seven years for tax and accounting purposes as required under US law. Uploaded photos and generated artwork are deleted 30 days after your order ships. Analytics data is retained per the respective third-party's policies.
8. Your rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you
- Request a copy of that information
- Request that we delete personal information we have collected from you
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share your data)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@vowance.com. We will respond within 45 days.
9. International transfers
Some of the third-party services listed above (Meta, Microsoft, Google, Cloudflare) may process your data on servers located outside the United States. These services maintain their own privacy standards; the links in section 6 describe how each of them handles your data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will reflect any change. Material changes will be posted on this page for at least 30 days before taking effect.
